MB030PHOTO stands for my name matthias brandt and the area code for berlin. I was born and raised in germany, with the exception of living in turkey for a few years when I was a child. After graduating the german school system I studied social work and shot photos of everything and everyone around me. I left berlin for a year to go to san francisco for an internship as a social worker, fell in love with the city and decided to move to california after my graduation in berlin. Ever since 1995 san francisco was my choice but berlin still feels like my real home by choice... I didn't like what I did in my job as a social worker and applied to art schools. I went to san francisco art institute's photography program...and took a break from my camera for almost 2 full years because I lost the magic at school. Ever since I was about 10 years old I had a camera around me, so I knew it was just a matter of time to pick up my camera. I love taking photos and I love my life.
